The Glowing Dial Listening Lounge

Welcome to the Glowing Dial Listening Lounge.  Here you can listen to episodes of our show, show promos, celebrity interviews, sound bites, show id spots, station id's, old time radio shows and more.  Be sure to scroll all the way down the page because there's a lot here to see and hear!

Most files on this page are in downloadable mp3, but there are still a few in RealAudio (I'll re-encode these to mp3 in the near future).  To listen to a file on this page, simply right-click on the blue title and select "save target as" which will download the file to your local hard drive for later listening.

Glowing Dial episodes, Glowing Dial Celebrity Interviews, Serial Theatre and Jack Webb shows, which are in all in mp3, are large files that can be up anywhere from 2 to 50 megs in size so I strongly recommend a high speed internet connection such as cable or DSL for downloading.

Thanks to "an anonymous good soul" we are once again able to offer our Glowing Dial shows and Celebrity Interviews in downloadable mp3.  You know who you are, good soul ... thanks!

To hear the files on this page, we recommend the following players:

Of course, Real Player is best for the few (and soon to be replaced with mp3) Real Audio/Media files.
Jet Audio 6 also plays Real Audio/Media files.

Glowing Dial Celebrity Interviews

In the five years The Glowing Dial was on Yesterday USA, Steve and I presented several interviews with noted OTR personalities.  Most of these interviews were recorded at The Friends Of Old Time Radio conventions that are held in Newark, NJ every October.  Steve and I feel very fortunate to have been able to interview these fascinating people and now, thanks to "an anonymous good soul", we are now offering all of our celebrity interviews in downloadable mp3!  ENJOY!

Click for a list of all Glowing Dial Celebrity Interviews with special links to their web sites and our association with Amazon.com!  This is where the audio links will be as well as methods you can use to download the episodes for later listening.

Yesterday USA Glowing Dial Episodes

Many of you have written to me asking that we make all of the Yesterday USA episodes of The Glowing Dial available for download.  Now, thanks to "an anonymous good soul", we are able to offer all of our Yesterday USA episodes in downloadable mp3!  Although most are available now, it will take some time to re-encode and post all the episodes so please be patient and check back often!

The New Glowing Dial Internet Radio Show

We are proud to announce that The Glowing Dial has returned to the internet and the response has been phenomenal!  The new episodes will be available in Streaming Real Media format as well as in downloadable mp3 files for your listening pleasure.  The current episodes can also be heard on Stay Tuned America as part of their program line-up.  Clicking on the McGee Machine's dial below will take you to the main page for the new Glowing Dial episodes where you will see the streaming audio links and downloadable mp3 links as well as links for archived past episodes.  The listening choices are as follows:

The Glowing Dial Page will offer each new episode on-demand, thanks to "an anonymous good soul", in downloadable mp3.  We are also archiving the new episodes in downloadable mp3 thanks to that "anonymous good soul" we just mentioned.

Jerry Haendiges' Olde Tyme Radio Network will offer each new episode on-demand in streaming Real Media.  This site is also archiving each new episode after it's initial 3 week run, also in streaming Real Media.  Thanks Jerry!

Stay Tuned America will offer each new episode as part of it's regular line-up of great shows.  Please note that this version is not on-demand.  The new shows started airing there on January 3, 2004 at 12 noon Central time.  As with the other 2 locations, each new episode will run for 3 weeks.  The show is now heard Fridays at 8pm EST.  Thanks Corey!

We want to hear from you as to what you think of the new expanded version of the show, so be sure to drop us an e-mail after you've listened to it.  Also be sure to check out the "Our Latest Contest" page too!  If you're our lucky winner, you'll receive an 80 minute cd with otr from The Glowing Dial Archives!  We try to have a new contest up in conjunction with the premiere of each new episode of The Glowing Dial Internet Radio Show!

We again would like to thank Jerry Haendiges of The Olde Tyme Radio Network and Corey Harker of Stay Tuned America for carrying our show and for all they are doing for us.  They are making it possible for us to reach a far greater audience than we could have ever hoped for.    We also wish to thank that "anonymous good soul" for storing the current and archived downloadable mp3's for us.  Please check out their sites and tell them Big John and Steve sent you!

We'll see you on the radio!

Click on the McGee Machine's dial to go to the links page for the new episodes.
Try clicking on the dials too.  You never know what'll happen ;-)

Well, Jack Webb's company, Mark VII Limited produced Project: U.F.O.
Jack created the series and was its Executive Producer as well.

NOTE: Due to a server crash recently at SaveFile.com, these files are currently unavailable.
I have been very busy with my new Disc Jockey company and with production of new episodes of
The Glowing Dial of late and have not had time to upload these files once again.
SaveFile.com does not have batch uploading so all the files have to be uploaded one-at-a-time.
This is very time consuming so please be patient and I will try to get the files back up as I have spare
time to do so.  I apologize for any inconvenience.

Old Time Radio Serials

Remember when you'd tune in your radio to your favorite program and just when it was getting interesting the announcer would tell you to tune in next time to see how the hero would get out of his or her current predicament?  Well, here is a chance to revive some of those memories.  And now, you don't even have to wait until next week!  We plan to have all episodes of our radio serials available for you in downloadable mp3 format!  This process will take quite a while so please understand if all your favorite episodes aren't up there yet.
